THE UNDERDOG FOUNDATION
The Underdog Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth athletes through the transformative power of sports. Our mission is to promote physical, social, and leadership development by providing accessible and affordable athletic opportunities — from clinics and scholarships to community engagement programs.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to community growth and connection. We believe that every young person, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves the chance to learn, play, and lead. Through teamwork, mentorship, and inclusion, we aim to bring athletes together and strengthen the communities we serve.
The Underdog Foundation is inspired by the legacy of Dennis Arthur Murphy Sr., a visionary American sports entrepreneur who co-founded groundbreaking leagues such as the American Basketball Association (ABA), the World Hockey Association (WHA), the original World TeamTennis, and Roller Hockey International. Murphy’s innovative spirit and passion for expanding access to sports continue to guide our efforts to create new opportunities for the next generation.
As a nonprofit organization, The Underdog Foundation is driven by one goal: to give back to the community and uplift the underdog — because when every child has a chance to play, everyone wins.
